Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we depart?

The boat will depart from and return to the Folly Beach Boat Landing for all tours. As you come over the bridge onto Folly Beach, the landing will be immediately on your right, 97 Center St. Folly Beach. In the summer months, weekend traffic onto the island can be very heavy, so plan accordingly. We recommend allowing for at least an extra 30 minutes on your travel time.

Are there bathrooms?

No! We suggest you go before your departure to avoid having that issue. Yes, people will go off the side if absolutely necessary, but there is no privacy on the boat, so please take measures to avoid this situation.

Are alcoholic beverages allowed?

Yes, all our tours are BYOB. You may also bring a small cooler if you like. Please keep in mind that if you drink too much, there is NOT a bathroom on the boat or the Island. It gets hot and humid in the summer months, so remember that alcohol will affect your ability to stay hydrated. If the Captain determines that a guest is intoxicated to a point where it is no longer safe for them to be on board, the tour will end and the vessel will return to the dock. No refund will be given.

What if there is bad weather?

If the event arises where the operator has to cancel the tour due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, the customer will be granted the option of a full refund or to reschedule for another time. As the weather conditions can change rapidly, we will try to provide at least 2 hours notice if the tour will be canceled.

What if I need to cancel?

Any tour canceled before 48 hours ahead of your departure time will be given a full refund. Cancelations within 48 hours of your departure will not be refundable. In the event of a no-show, the customer will be charged the full amount.

Are we dog-friendly?

Yes, we welcome your dog, but keep in mind that space on the boat is limited. So if you are a group of 6 people, there will not be enough room for a large dog. Please call if you intend to bring any pets or service animals.

Do children count as a passenger?

Yes, the Coast Guard regulates the maximum number of individuals allowed on the vessel, and children are the same as adults in their eyes.

Will we get wet?

Yes, it is likely that you will get wet while onboard. Usually it’s just some spray as the boat cuts through choppy water, and the stronger the wind, the more chop there will be. Also, afternoon showers commonly form right on the coast, especially in the summer months. We recommend keeping all electronics in a water-tight container.
